Discutiile sunt tehnice si mai ales, sensibile. Putini indraznesc sa intre in cercul celor care iau parte la ele, iar personajele sunt de prim rang. Pe de o parte il avem pe Guvernatorul BNR Mugur Isarescu, cu intreaga credibilitate a sa si a institutiei pe care o conduce. De cealalta parte sunt directorii unor banci- dintre care cel mai vizibil este Misu Negritoiu si fostii sefi ai Trezoreriilor, dintre care cel care a ridicat primul piatra este Lucian Isar. Unii sustin teoria atacului speculativ pe leu din toamna lui 2008, ceilalti sustin ca a fost mai degraba o farsa media si ca leul nu a fost "atacat" de nimeni.
