March 30th
It's been a week already. We look back at our first week with mixed emotions. The trip was OK and the off-loading of the truck was a piece of cake. Friday was a complete off day as far as we are concerned. All our tools were stolen. We were a bit devastated and very disappointed. We could hardly suppress the urge to pack our things and go straight home. But we are from Holland so we improvise. From all sorts of places we managed to arrange some basic tools and equipment and started the first project at the University Hospital.
We finished the Neonatology project on Tuesday, March the 29th. We were even on the local news station! Monday, we discovered again some of our stuff was stolen from the LOCKED storage room. We decided to temporarily postpone the other project at the University Hospital for this reason. Frankly, we've had it!!
On Wednesday, we started the project at the Children's Hospital. What a blessing to be able to work here! Everybody is cooperative and is trying to help. What a contrast. After unpacking the boxes with equipment, we started with our work. The first 8 outlets for oxygen and compressed air are already fitted on the second floor. Tomorrow, we'll continue the project knowing we're appreciated by the people of the Children's Hospital.
