Meetings Development Projects 2006

Children's Hospital

The Urgenta team has finished the preliminary talks about the 2006 development projects in Sibiu, Romania. 17 Air and 2 oxygen outlets will be installed at the Cardiology department of the Children's Hospital. The second floor of the main building will be equipped with another 20 air and 5 oxygen outlets, The blood drawing room on the third floor will be provided with 2 outlets for air and 1 for oxygen. In preparation of the reconstruction of the Luther Hospital into a First Aid clinic, the Urgenta Foundation will install a number of outlets for air and oxygen. Considering the total amount of outlets (43 air and 10 oxygen), this will mean a lot more effort, time and money for the Urgenta crew.

The Board has also expressed the need for:

• children bath tubs 20 pieces
• fresh water facilities
• a back-up power supply unit of at least 60 kva
• extractor fans for the kitchen

University Hospital

We also had a very pleasant meeting with the new General Manager of the University Hospital, Mrs. M. Boitan. On behalf of the hospital, she expressed her appreciation for the foundation's development work in the passed years. She likes to continue the cooperation between the hospital and the Urgenta Foundation in the future. Next year, Urgenta will install a number of outlets in the delivery room of the Obstetrics department. The Urgenta Foundation will purchase those outlets. Preliminary cost estimate: 7,500 Euro.

We also discussed the development plan for a new University Hospital which was initiated by the Heart for Romania Foundation, a few years ago. Back then, there wasn't sufficient support from the Board itself. Recently, Mrs. Boitan has sent a letter to the Health Department in Bucharest inquiring about this project. The Health Department hasn't reacted yet.
